GTA San Andreas Mod APK + OBB Data File: Complete Installation Guide (No Errors)
April 18, 2026 • 9 min read • GTA San Andreas
The most common reason GTA San Andreas fails to launch on Android is an incorrect OBB data file placement. The APK installs the game engine, but the OBB contains all actual game content maps, textures, audio, cutscenes, and mission scripts. Without it in the correct location, the game shows "Data not found" and refuses to start.
Understanding APK vs OBB Files
- APK File (~150 MB): The application installer. Contains the game engine, mod code, and Android system integration. Install this first like any normal app.
- OBB File (~2.4 GB): The expansion data. Contains the entire 3D world of San Andreas every building, road, NPC, vehicle, and audio track. Must be placed in a specific folder.
Exact OBB Folder Path
The OBB must go in this exact location on your Android device:
Internal Storage → Android → obb → com.rockstargames.gtasa → [OBB files here]
If the com.rockstargames.gtasa folder does not exist, create it manually. The folder name must be exactly as written above any typo causes the "Data not found" error.
